The Academy of Wound Healing offers masters-level clinical training in the professional practice of wound healing, wound care, hygiene, and the management of chronic wounds.

Nature of the Organization

The Academy of Wound Healing is the trade name of Dr. Geissler’s summer school located at 9 Saint Michael’s Street, Oxford OX1 2RR (UK).

Faculty

Participating scholars, tutors, lecturers, researchers and clinical practitioners – all termed “faculty” – are appointed by the Program Director. All faculty appointments are subject to review and approval by the Office of the Provost of University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana (USA).

Affiliations

Academy of Wound Healing is affiliated with the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana (USA).

Academy of Wound Healing is not affiliated with University of Oxford.

Despite the similarity in the names of comparable organizations, Academy of Wound Healing is affiliated with neither the American College of Wound Healing and Tissue Repair (ACWH) nor the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing (APWH).

Academy of Wound Healing is not affiliated with the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway which offers an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair as a two-year, fulltime, classroom and hospital-based training program.

Academy of Wound Healing is not affiliated with Cardiff University (Wales) which offers an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair as a three-year, part-time, distance learning course.

Accreditation

The Academy of Wound Healing is not a free-standing degree-granting institution; rather it provides masters-level clinical training for and on behalf of University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana (USA). As such, the Academy of Wound Healing is not eligible for accreditation as an educational institution.
